The PTM meeting 2016 will take place in the Ferdinand Buisson building (19 allée de Fontenay, 69007 Lyon) at the Ecole Normale Supérieure of Lyon. The conference site is at walking distance (5min) from the subway (line B) and the tram (line T1) station «Debourg».

Venue

By plane. The Lyon Saint-Exupéry International Airport has good connections to the center of the city. A tram line (« Rhône-express ») links the airport to the city center (Lyon Part-Dieu Station). Departure every 15 minutes from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm, every 30 minutes between 5:00 am and 6:00 am, and between 9:00 pm and 0:40 am. The journey to the city center (Lyon Part-Dieu Station) is less than 30 minutes and costs 13 euros. You can purchase tickets online, at the automatic ticket machines at the airport, or directly on board. The ride in taxi is about 50-60 euros during working hours, and 70-80 euros at night.


By train. The Lyon Part-Dieu Station is located in the city center of Lyon, and is connected with many tram, buses and subway lines. To reach the conference site, the easiest is to take the subway line B in direction of Oullins and to stop at the station Debourg.


By car. Lyon is a major highway hub. You can get in and out of the city from:

  1. A6 highway which connects Lyon to Paris.

  2. A7 highway which connects Lyon to Marseille, Nice, and Italy, and Toulouse and Spain.

  3. A43 highway which connects Lyon to Grenoble and Northern Italy.

  4. A47 highway which connects Lyon to Saint-Étienne, Clermont-Ferrand and the West of France.

  5. A42 highway which connects Lyon to Geneva (Switzerland) and Germany.

Travel

Transportation

The public transportation system of Lyon (« TCL ») is well established in the city and you can easily move in Lyon by using subways, tramways, and buses. A journey costs 1.80 euros, and the ticket is valid for 1 hour. You can also move in Lyon by walking or by renting a bicycle. Accommodation

Attendees will have to make their own arrangement for accommodation. The hotels listed below are located near the meeting venue. You can also book an hotel in the historical city center of Lyon which is inscribed on the UNESCO world heritage list. The meeting venue is less than 20 min away from the historical center by public transportation.
